Default Its a girl

My step daughter had a baby girl on Sunday. This is the first grand child for hubby and I and we are thrilled.

Last September hubby and I were on an Alaskan cruise , at one of the quilt shops in Ketchikan , he spotted this pattern and said it would make the perfect quilt for the first grandson, I bought the pattern thinking that I would not have to make it for a while. A few months later we got the news that Megan was expecting and I needed to get busy. I decided I needed to make two quilts as the pattern that hubby had picked was quite masculine.

I made the girl quilt first and finished this at the end of February. It is a disappearing nine patch in pastel florals.

I have not yet finished the boy quilt...luckily I can now take my time and keep it for the next boy baby.

This is not my quilt but the quilt in the shop in Ketchikan.( I cant find my camera cord to upload). This quilt finishes at 60 inches square which I think is too large for a baby quilt so I may end up finishing it and using it as a wall hanging for the man cave.
