Hi Indigofab,
The City & Guilds Certificate is an examination that we can take over here in the UK. The category of Patchwork and Quilting has three levels in the category, Level 1, Level 2 and the highest which is Level 3. I have just completed Level 3 certificate - they also do a Diploma course in this subject which is higher than the Certificate. Categories themselves are usually practical and or vocational. With a level 3 it would probably be acceptable to teach an adult class in a patchwork and quilting methods - and could help you progress into teaching children. The City & Guilds institute of London runs courses in 81 countries around the world. So it is a well recognised qualification. There are over 500 categories to chose from.
I hope this gives you a bit of an insight into the course.
I just did the course for myself..... Don't think I will use it in any way.
Hugs and thanks for asking.

Question - what exactly are the C&G's? Is to become certified (for judging, perhaps), or for university credit?
