I just finished a wall hanging using this technique. It is pieced like a traditional log cabin except that you use two size width strips which creates the curve affect. I used 1" and 3/4" (raw size) and made sea horses out of the blocks by turning the blocks around to accent the curve. The side with the wider strips creates the curve. I didn't have a pattern and the challenge is to get the two width strips the right size so that you end up with a square when you're finished. Overall the pattern looks more difficult than it is. I have seen it referred to as a curved log cabin and if you google that there is quite a bit out there on it.
