I have a Singer 403A in the portable case in my collection, but I really haven’t ever done much with it since we’re so “into” the 401A model. It’s my portable version of the 401A machines that we like so much.
I bought and serviced another Singer 403A last week to find a new home for it, with or without the Model 72 Cabinet that it came in, and doing the test-sew after servicing felt every bit as good as sewing with a 401A, except that I didn’t use all of the cams for the test.
