I bought and serviced another Singer 403A last week to find a new home for it, with or without the Model 72 Cabinet that it came in, and doing the test-sew after servicing felt every bit as good as sewing with a 401A, except that I didn’t use all of the cams for the test.

I like the stitches better on the 403 - you can adjust the width better.
