You're right about the batting having different "shades" of green. It depends on which green bottles they use. For example, if you check the Mtn Dew bottles, they're actually slightly darker than, say, 7-Up or Sprite bottles. Plus, I think they use some of the clear bottles as well, so I think it's the mix of light green/dark green/clear bottles that changes the color of the batting.
