But not so great for the person who might be buying your machine if you tell them it "only has __ stitch count. My machines carry 2 totals...one for total usage and one that the service person resets for knowing (both he and I) when the machines were last serviced. If I knew a machine could have it's stitch count reset to zero, I would be leery of buying 2nd hand. BTW, my machines are by Brother.
