I'd seen Leah Day's idea as well, but didn't want to put hooks into the finished ceiling of my sewing room. This is another of those "Why couldn't I think of that" idea. Even buying a portable clothing rack would be less hassle than messing with putting hooks in the ceiling. And doesn't everyone have bungie cords laying around?
