I have six modern machines and one treadle. Two of my machines are only embroidery, a serger , a Featherweight and two Bernina sewing machines. The Bernina 185 is my regular sewing machine and I have a lower end less expensive Bernina that I use for workshops etc. since it weighs at least ten lbs less than my other machine. The treadle is something I picked up at a yard sale. I have never tried to sew with it. I got the featherweight at a yard sale for $20. Who ever was selling it had no clue. I didn't tell them either. I just gave them the money and ran. I rarely use it but I learned to sew on my Mother's so it holds sentimental value for me. The one my Mother purchased in 1935, that I learned to sew on, I let my nieces have as she had also taught them to sew on it. I prefer the stand alone embroidery machines to the combination ones. That allows me to have something running on the embroidery machine while I am using my regular machine to sew. I am an expert at multi tasking.
