I agree, Finish the quilt. If they don't like it, I am sure that some charity would enjoying receiving it. There are charities that collect blocks, quilt tops or quilts and donate them to an area that had been devastated by Mother earth. I assume when you have lost all your possessions in an earthquake, flood, hurricane or fire, that any gift is appreciated that starts them on the path of recovery their lives.
