Because I think the cream makes more sense. It continues the pattern and "white caps" the teal waves and carries on with the movement your piece has. JMHO, I would paint the frame a teal shade with a cream paint wipe off or vice versa. Or use white oak or pine and do a teal stain wiped off or a dark wood frame. Ok that's way more than my 2 cents so I'll stop now...sorry! Too much HGTV and DIY Network I guess
