well...don't think of it as a burden, think of it as an opportunity for growth. Twenty years ago you probably wouldn't have thought to do (or wanted to do) what you are doing now.

Routine is good in some ways but not forever. Change works wonders for your emotional well-being and gives you insight into other things. Fundamentally I'll bet your the same, just your interests have changed - nothing wrong with that!
