I totally agree--the cord is hidden behind the machine--even if the machine was in the middle of the room and you would be sitting in front of it---my sewing machine cords are black and that doesn't bother me--in fact, most of the lamps I have the cords are black.

While I would have chosen white if it was an option, I couldn't justify $80 compared to $25 I paid just to get a white cord. I can't see the cord since the back of my machine faces the wall, so I really don't care. If it bothered me that much, I'd spray paint it.
