I have to disagree with you about that. If you moved to FL from up north and brought daylilies with you that you grew there, yes those daylilies will soon fade away to nothing. That is because they are dormants and FL doesn't get cold enough for them. If you switch to semi evergreen and evergreen types, they thrive here.. A couple of big name hybridizers Like David Kirchoff and Mort Morss used to have their garden Daylily World over in Sanford FL for years until development around the garden destroyed the drainage for their garden. They then moved to Kentucky.
But semi evergreen and evergreen daylilies do very well in FL . If you are in North FL check out the daylily clubs up there. Pensacola and other cities like Lake City . Check out the AHS website for Region 12 clubs. I belong to the Tampa Bay Area Daylily Club.
