The scale on the faceplate is showing the presser foot pressure. The upper tension is a little different in that as you screw it in there are scale markings on the top of the dial and the take up spring is not on the tension device but to the left of it right next to the thread guide.

It's a straight stitch, but does have reverse and also can lower the feed dogs and it has a vertical bobbin.
