the only thing thats missing is the same step over and over again.

you put a piece of fabric over the area that you just did, right sides together, sew along the straight line, press that fabric open, put a piece of fabric over the area that you just did, right sides together, sew along the straight line, etc, etc, etc.

the only differences i've seen with the way people paper piece are

- do they sew thru the paper or just use it as a seam guideline as in the freezer paper method

- do they cut all the pieces out to roughly cover the area (i think thats what amma does) or do they just use fabric strips and trim it down after its sewn in place (method i use).

here's a tute i did for the christmas jane swap because some people wanted to see the method i use since you really don't waste that much fabric.

it shows step by step how to paper piece a multi unit block using long strips of fabric.
