Thanks to everyone on QB for advice on the thread jam. Success! We downloaded singerguy's pics, reassembled everything, cleaned and oiled the FW and it hums right along
My neighbor loves her own FW and is having problems selling this little jewel now that it is ready to sew. My bet is that she keeps it.
