My fix? A hammer!! I hammer those joints with several thicknesses or along doubleed hem lines and the machine zips over them. I have a jean-a-ma-jig but could never seem to lay my hands on it when I needed it so decided to try the hammer (do you read - frustrated?) and it worked so well I never use my jean-a-ma-jig again.
