I have a 237. The only plastic part is the hook holder. How do I know. Mine was cracked when I got the machine, ordered new one. Then I noticed it skipped stitches. I found that the feed dog wasn't moving properly. Once I got them free, no more skipped stitches. Sews a nice seam.
