Someone wrote on my blog yesterday that so-called "open bobbins" are available for the 319, so that there is no chance at all of a 15x1 needle hitting the bobbin case. Frudemoo's OSMG also mentioned that he modifies existing cases, removing some material so that a 15x1 won't make contact with it. I haven't seen the need for doing this recently but it certainly sounds like I should. If I find out about this open bobbin I'll add it to the vintage resource thread. No need to re-make the needles then!
