Thanks for the assist. The pattern is sold by Connecting Threads and I really like it but.... This afternoon I finally received an answer from the manufacturer. Apparently the diagram is correct and the instructions are wrong. Quite to opposite of what I would have expected. So I am glad I delayed cutting.
