We have a temperpedic split king and love, love love it. Our bed had no odor whatsoever and we slept on it from the first night. Our son and DIL had a sleep number for a number of years, got really tired of it, and got a temperpedic when they moved here. They said there was no comparison the temperpedic won hands down. Also when they were breaking the SNB down before they moved, there was mold in the chamber and they just trashed it. They did say they thought the mattress was a little warm, but they got a cooling pad and said it worked. My advice is to check out both kinds of beds and see which suits your needs the best. BTW, our prior mattress was a pillow top with memory foam and it broke down on the sided in a few years. Also, the temperpedic has a 20 year warranty.
