2wheel, we did that today. We went to the police station and got the report number, we went to the post office to let them know what happened. They inturn made a note of our address and to be on the lookout for a possible address change. We also called Social Security office but we kept being disconnected. Call the FTC and got a report number. (They maintain a database of identity theft cases for law enforcement agencies for investigations.) Called Equifax and reported it. (yet another case number) Who will inturn let the other agencies know. Plus we called the IRS. It's tax season time. The guy my husband spoke with said worst case is that they can make up a fake W-2 and collect on it.
I hope and pray that it won't go any further.
