Yes, that is a good idea - except- the backing for the quilt has been done for months! I do like two sided quilts so your idea is a great one for me. Here is the backing I already made. The pattern is Crayon Box by Bonnie Hunter.

My friend chose both of the patterns for her quilt. She likes bright colors !!! This has been a bit of a challenge for me since my normal pallet is muddied colors such as Civil War reproduction fabrics.

I will definitely do SOMETHING with the two extra blocks. Maybe a tote bag for me, some 13" throw pillows for my friend to match her quilt, or, a couple of sewing machine covers for my room. These blocks were too much work to not use them in something.
