The D9P's that I liked best have the center block of each 9-patch the same vibrant color: white, black, or bright solids. Very small prints work too, but large prints get lost when you cut them into 4 pieces. That way the whole quilt looks very scrappy, and you've used lots of your scraps, but the bright center pieces (which are now quite small) give a patterned look to the quilt.
But this advice is too late for you, since you have the 9-patches already made and cut. Then I'm with everyone else. Play with them and have fun.
