It doesn't surprise me how hot any energy efficient bulb gets. I learn that lesson the first time I tried changing the bulb from my Bernina 1530. I didn't get burn but I feel the head come thru the plastic doodad that helps remove the light bulb. I am not sure if a Klutz glove would have helped. Take good care of that burn.
