The same thing happened with my niece- We fixed it by putting a large half square triangle in one of the colors of the quilt. Looked just fine
My solution is very similar. I made a mistake on one of my borders so I unsewed all the corners, added in a square from one of the other fabrics in the quilt to make it look that was the way I had planned it all the time, and continued on.
