Normally, I am just a lurker on the site, but I could not resist saying something this time. First, congratulation on your gorgeous find at the GW store. I realize that you are not a collector of the smaller machine, but you may want to consider it. Secondly, it's the big sister to the Featherweight, which can be a collector's item. Thirdly, this is a 'Centennial,' model, which means it was produced during Singer's centennial celebration. I just recently purchased one in the Featherweight and paid $400. for the machine. So you may have been joking of the $500. But, that machine can easily value out to 5-8 hundred dollars. Give it away if you may, it may be a nest-egg for you. Thank you for allowing me to summit my input. Enjoy.
