Your Brained Border (and centre!)really sparkles ... I think you said the logs finish at 3/4", so yes, you could hand quilt it, just go up the middle of the logs!
Normally, I'm the traditionalist, especially for the "old" patterns ... with this layout, you've proven to me how everything old can be new again! Love it!
