It is also great for quilting, Viking recommends it for the mega quilter. If you pull too hard on the fabric while FMQ you could be causing it to break. Also, make sure your pressure foot is up when threading your machine to get the best tension. Before starting to quilt, pull gently on your thread to see if it comes thru the needle without having to pull. It could also be the needle too. I love this thread for everything. I've even used it in my machine emb without any trouble
