I've see really cute stick horse ornaments (could Google I'm sure) made of fabric or felt with either some sort of dowel rod or even a candy cane. Another ice is to find an old cutter quilt and cut it into shapes---hearts, angels, teddy bears, scotty dogs, etc.--then did the shapes in a white glue, let dry, and then glue on lace, rickrack or whatever to trim. If you don't find the quilt, you could make little quilted blocks and do the same. Actually, little fabric or quilted scotty dogs make great ornaments...Pinterest and google are both good sources for patterns and idea!
