I think my MIL wrapped the breast of the bird in bacon, and cooked it in the oven with stuffing. Also did quail that way. I did not have to fix it, as the birds always seem to stay at his Mother's house which was alright with me. I did eat it on occasion with his parents, and found it was very good. Unfortunately, his parents are deceased and so are the friends they hunted with. So scare the game is now, and hunting rights leased out, good old days of hunting seems gone from the Mid West scene...not like it used to be around here.
