I grew up not far from Walnut Grove, MN. They also have a great museum and put on a wonderful pageant each summer. This year several of the actors from the Little House TV series met there for a reunion the last weekend in July. Unfortunately, we had other obligations that weekend, so could not attend. We took our girls there last summer (ages 9 and 11) and they loved it. It was also fun to splash in Plum Creek and see the original dugout site.
