Hello 💕
I'm new to this board ... I signed up three days ago and have reading so many posts! You are a great community of people!
Anyways ... I'm in my early 30s and I'm about to finish my first sampler, only the binding is missing. So happy about it! I will post a photo once it's finished.
I'm from Germany but my best friend lives in Ohio so I'm trying to visit at least once a year.
I first got in touch with quilting when I visited the States for the first time. I was an exchange student and my host-mom sewed and quilted (she still does 😉
. I fell in love with her quilts and wanted to learn how to do it. Unfortunately everything quilting-related was super expensive over here. 😒 It took me five years until I signed up for a quilting class. I learnt the basics but somehow ... I don't know. I stopped sewing/ quilting right afterwards. 😒
At the beginning of '14 I decided that I wanted to give quilting another try. I'm not a big fan of teaching things to myself (in my opinion there are enough people who want to share their knowledge and it's much easier to learn from them instead of reading books/ watching videos ... and going crazy because of little steps not working out). I found a small patchwork/ quilting supply shop - a treasure! I contacted the owner and score!! She offered quilting beginner classes. Four weeks later the class started ... and the result is my almost finished sampler that I've already mentioned. I'm hooked!
I'm sure that I can get so much info and help on here. I hope I'm able to give something back but I'm still so new to quilting. Please bare with me - I still have problems finding the right quilting related terms (especially in English 😚 ). But I'm happy if you correct me. 😀
Beside quilting I love crocheting, sports and spending time with my dogs. 😀
