Thanks everyone.... great ideas here, as always. I may go and check out the PVC pipe at Home Depot and see what I can figure out. I think Geri B is correct, it's probably better not to cut the original set up in case I decide to sell it. And I love coloradosky's comment about it not fitting through the door - I have the same problem!
