I guess I would either go square 36x36 with a border or just go square 45x45. I have a baby quilt on my wall at the moment that got out of control and is now 45 " square and I would not change the size at all. It work with the patterns and little babies, don't stay little. They turn in to toddlers that can use a larger quilt for snuggling in. Hope to see a picture soon. BTW, I was an English major and I stumble with math too
but quilting has helped!
