Default Blue Christmas

Well, this is actually my 6th Christmas quilt, and I only needed 4 for the grandkids. But once on a roll, it is hard to stop. I have had this blue kids Christmas fabric for several years and am really working on using up stash, so I cut strips of the kids fabric, added dark blue to both sides of each strip, and then used a hexie ruler to cut the 6 layers, and put them together. I wasn't sure what to do with the 3 open half hexies on each side, so I cut the dark blue and set them in, and I am happy with the result. I used some more of the blue kids fabric to make the quilt a little larger, and then finished it off with a border of red. It ended up measuring 55x72, good lap size and I backed it with fleece. I did SID in the body of the quilt and did a FMQ(using a stencil) to do the border. Maybe someday I can actually do it free motion. Enjoy looking.
