Kirsten, it is an old 1980s McCall's pattern called Lover's Links.
I've finally got the major seams SID done so I can take the safety pins out and start playing. Got to figure out what motifs I want in the white squares & rectangles. I think I'm finally going to try golden threads paper & pounce to mark it.
