For this quilt, the way it radiates out from the center, I like the straight line quilting ideas. I don't know if that breaks any "rules" but that's what I would do if that were my quilt.
But it wouldn't be my quilt because there are WAY too many triangles! LOL! It's beautiful and I'm sure whatever quilting you go with will only improve it.
