I've purchased magazines at guild quilt shows for a quarter too. If there is something I especially want I look through it to see if it is there. And some times at guild shows they are $.25 but then you can get 6 for $1. And if there are still useful patterns etc. someone can still get use from them. The reuse before recycle step.

I guess you could put a post it note on the cover stating "this pattern is no longer in the mag"
