Could you tell me how wide I should cut the three strips that I would sew together to make the unit that goes between the 10X10 blocks (which are the layer cake). On a warm wishes, the solid (more or less solid) strips usually have a center strip that is a bit wider than the two on the ends. So to go with a 10" block, I'd cut two outside strips at 10" x 3.5 different colors (finish at 9.5 long and 3 wide) and the middle strip at 10" x 4" which would finish at 3.5 wide and 9.5 long
