It looks like one of those class projects that schoolchildren made for a good cause.
A few brought in fabrics, they were all cut to much of a size and then those who finished their class work first were allowed to sew some of the blocks into strips. The strips were then sewn together. No rhyme or reason to the design; it was just 'patchwork'. Tied and not quilted, and tied onto an old blanket and not backed, kind of fits in with the whole 'making do' of the project idea.
For $2 though, there are some lovely prints in there
