Thimblebug, did you sew all the way to the end of the seams? If you don't sew into tthe 1/4" seam allowance it's easier to get the centre of the block lay flat. Here's the one I made for my Sylvia.

Yours is beautiful! No I didn't sew into the ¼" seam allowance and I think that's what is confusing me so much, I just don't know what to do with all those points. Will look at it again with a fresh eye and maybe a little more patience
