I made one 96" x 110" for my queen bed to make sure it fit the depth of the mattress with a couple inches to spare. It just covers the depth if I make sure it's centered on the width of the bed perfectly. I forgot to factor in the shrinkage and that ended up being 3.5" of the width. The length is perfect for tucking under and over the pillow. If she just wants to lay her pillows on top it still works because she can just fold any excess quilt under itself at the top before she puts the pillows on.
