I have enjoyed having both the book and the CD. The book is crucial. The CD has been very useful to me in that I not only used it to print the patterns (150% vs Actual size, I think), but also the full sized colored photos of Margaret's completed blocks. (BTW, note that in many of the blocks there are important differences between the pattern and her completed block.) The fact that I do all my block construction upstairs and do fabric storage/cutting, pattern tracing and fabric highlighting (Inktense pencils or paint) downstairs has made the CD an important LBB tool for me, saving me having to tote the book up and down the basement stairs.
