I learned FMQ from Leah Day videos & her model is that the only thing you learn by ripping out stitches is to become a good ripper, so I mostly leave in my mistakes unless a seam is really crooked or has puckers. I've just been stitching for the past week other than 5 stitches I had to pull out of a needle turn project because my seam allowance on a spiral was getting too big.
I usually have to hunt around for a seam ripper when I need it because I use them so infrequently. No one's complained yet & it's a good exercise for me to practice letting go of my perfectionism.
