I do a version of Bonnie Hunter... I found I really wasn't using 3" or 4" squares. I cut the largest I can from each scrap (although, if it is bigger than about 6 or 8", I leave it whole and put it with the FQ's), then cut again the largest, rinse and repeat. I am fortunate enough to work as a camp nurse, so I have time that I can be p"roductive and work on taming the scraps. I cut 5", 3.5", 2.5" (those 2 sizes can play nice with the 5") 2" squares. Strips to me, I leave as long as possible... thus, if I have a 5" x 10" strip, I would NOT cut 2 5" blocks, but leave it long. My goal is to have as big a piece as possible, yet have uniformly cut strips/blocks. The crumbs left, as long as there is still about an inch after seams, become crumb blocks... Hope any of this makes sense... I haven't had my whole cup of coffee yet
