I haven't done a side-by-side comparison but the insides I've examined use what appears to have come from the same parts bins.
Many, if not most of Brothers machines from about 1956 through the mid to late 60s were pretty much identical in mechanics. Color and fiddly parts changed but the heart of the machines stayed pretty much the same. That's what makes it hard for me to hone the parameters of how I want to build my collection.
