As I have gotten more quilts under my belt I am finding it easier to modify something that inspires me to make it a little more original. Relax and just try to enjoy whatever you are making. Those sparks may come over time.
I always seem to find everyone else's opinions to be the opposite of mine, but I often go ahead and like the result. I am imitative, not original, but still have a sense of what colors I like with what others.
