My mother-in-law recommended doing something similar several years ago. She suggested always cutting strips and squares in common sizes whenever I'm cutting for another project. It's a simple matter to cut a few extra strips and then they're ready when you need them. I also like to go down to my sewing room and cut strips and common squares when I'm not working on a project. I find that pulling out the fabric helps to inspire and when I have a project in mind, I'm impatient with cutting. So this is a great time to sort through scraps and small pieces and prepare for future scrappy projects. I don't have any larger squares in my cut scraps (I think that about 6" is the biggest). I'll have to think about the larger squares. Thanks for sharing and I'm sure that you'll find plenty of uses for your scraps and I look forward to future pictures of finished projects.
